   At first I didn’t want to like Laura Benanti. Just a personal thing, voice seemed too blandly operatic. Then I heard how wonderfully her voice blends with Andrea McArdle’s and I changed my mind. Their voices together are like a nice equation, did anyone else notice that? No wonder Andrea McArdle has had such a long career. Her voice and style are such that many singers mix nicely with her. (I’m not saying Laura *needed* Andrea to sound good, just that the combo is gold).

   Natalie Wood was Russian but she played Maria in the movie, big deal, it doesnt matter. all that matters is that they can sing and act the part and pass as that character

   actually i found out yesterday that Laurents wants unknown actors/actresses. ah well. she’s still gonna have an incredible career.

    Yeah. Now that she has worked with Authur in Gypsy, and if she wins the tony, I can really see her being cast as Maria.

    i love andrea, she is simply amazing!! although i’m not gonna lie, i don’t like west side sotry that much, don’t hate it fully but not my fav, i do love this song though!!

    Geez! Could someone revive West Side Story just for Laura and Andrea? Their voices blend so well, and individually they sound heavenly!
